Request a Paid Duty
During Business Hours (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding statutory holidays).
Follow these instructions to book a paid duty officer during business hours:
1.
LOGIN or Create a new account
2. Select the duties requested (Banquet; Traffic/Construction - Please ensure to attach the Traffic Control/Protection Plan)
3. Specify
the hours and dates requested including instructions or specific information
related to the request (attach any relevant permits, provide as much detail as
possible about the event).
4.
Submit the request.
Within
2 business days, the Paid Duty Unit will review all paid duty requests
including acceptance of the request, number of officers and vehicles, depending
on the nature of the paid duty. Payment
is required, in full, prior to the requested paid duty date.
**Due
to traffic flow and volume of vehicles at certain locations the Paid Duty
Unit may increase the number of officers on the request with consultation with
the District. (e.g. work being completed on/along Highway 7 and larger
intersections)**
Outside Business Hours
To request a paid duty for the next business day outside of business hours, fax the Paid Duty Request Form or the Funeral Paid Duty Request Form to the policing district in which the paid duty will be performed. It is advised to follow up with the District to ensure that the request was received and had been filled with an officer assigned.
Funeral Escorts
Please attempt to route funeral processions in such a way as to avoid intersections equipped with red light cameras. If an officer is not visible within a red light camera-generated image, all vehicles proceeding through an intersection against a red light will be considered to have committed an offence and an offence notice will be issued to the vehicle owner.
Cancellation Terms
Any cancellation request must be received more than 24 hours before the beginning of the requested paid duty shift, or the applicant will be responsible for three hours at regular rates for each officer originally requested, or four hours if cancellation occurs within one hour of the requested shift.
To cancel during business hours, contact the Paid Duty Unit at 905-830-0303, extension 6085.
